NEW SENSATION PLAYED THE DIXIE TAVERN IN ATLANTA, A LEGENDARY VENUE WITH A SMALL STAGE AND A PACKED ROOM.

For the flight home decided to wrap up the trip in Milan and get a taste of some Milanese, Risotto, and Ossobuco :-)

We decided to take a fast visit to Venice. I have been here since around 2000 so it was interesting to go back and see it. Moody as always.

Just a few miles off the main path is San Gimignano, a nearly perfectly preserved Tuscan town up in the hills a bit with great views off the countryside.

Took a day trip down to Siena, a place I haven’t been back to in over 20 years. Still has it going on as a gem of the Tuscan area.

After a few days in Rome we headed up into Tuscany for 3 nights in Firenze to see some friends and a couple of legit meals in the city. It’s a great time of the year to be in Firenze.

Back in Italy with my family this time and starting in Rome because it’s alway nice to start in Rome.

Back in Charlotte for an INXS Live Tribute show with New Sensation. Double bill with IdolX, the top Billy Idol tribute in the USA out of LA.

After having driven all the way back up through Puglia, Basilicata, Campania, and Lazio I’m back in Rome for the day before flying home. Rome is Rome - always amazing.

Hadn’t planned on going to Bari but heard Bari Vecchia is good so decided to swing by on the way even further South into Puglia.

Continuing the way all the way to the bottom of the heel of Italy we stopped by the city of Lecce, a very interesting place I never really thought about much but it was worth the visit. It has it’s own unique feeling.

Ostuni was one of the gems of the trip into Puglia. The white city on the hill. Went into town at night for a cool vibe and some top notch orrechiette.

Left to check out Monopoli, a town I had never visited but heard it was worth it. It was. Monopoli was an amazingly cool little village with a small port and a great walking area.

Headed East over to the Adriatic Sea to visit Polignano a Mare and enjoy the views to the sea.

Matera is an unbelievable city like nothing you will find anywhere else. Ancient, forgotten, found again, and now almost rustic hip. A must visit place.

Decided to drive down from Firenze to Puglia and made the first stop Altamura.

Back in Firenze for a short 2 days visit with friends. Here’s a couple of shots from the streets.
